Event Schedule

Daily Pilot Briefing | 10:30 a.m. Daily

A Pilot’s Briefing will be held daily at 10:30 a.m. on the porch of the Ground Loop Inn (#1 on the map), with AAA President Brent Taylor officiating. At the briefing, we will cover airport operations, procedures, and any problems relating to airport operations that might arise. We encourage all pilots, photographers, and interested members to attend. If you plan to go flying during the day your attendance at this briefing is required!

Available Services

Aircraft Fuel Services

Our fuel provider for these last 10 years, Classic Aviation, has had to bow out this year due to business constraints. We are actively working to find, and have had encouraging communication with, another fuel provider. Planned hours currently are:

Wednesday, August 30 | 12 – 7 p.m.
Thursday, August 31 – Sunday, September 3  | 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.

On-Site Food & Drinks

The North Hy-Vee Store will be on hand to cater meals and snacks in the 24th Fighter Squadron Mess Hall starting on Wednesday at noon through noon on Monday, Labor Day. A wide variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals will be served. Ice and other carryout grocery items will be available.

The Dave Warren Coffee House

The Michigan AAA chapter once again invites you to start your day at Dave Warren’s Coffee House, located on the patio of the Ground Loop Inn. Rosie Duckworth, Carol and Gary Van Farowe, and other MI AAA Chapter members will be serving fresh coffee daily, first thing in the morning. All proceeds from the Coffee House go to the APM.

The Pilots Pub

The following have stepped forward to help run this popular venue, each taking a night:

  • Wednesday: the Flatlanders (local AAA members and volunteers)
  • Thursday: the Nebraska Chapter AAA
  • Friday: Butler-Brown Insurance
  • Saturday: the Texas Chapter AAA

Sunday night is still available at present if your chapter is interested in helping to not only man the bar, but also promote your individual chapter, programs, and events!

APM Gift Shop

Jessica Fryer-Harper and Amber Covington look forward to hosting the APM Gift Shop this year. Located just inside the museum entrance, the store will be open daily during the Fly-in, selling Fly-in T-shirts, mugs, patches, and other merch. Cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, and Discover are accepted.
