Life Begins at Forty: T-Shirt Designs

Artist and AAA member Peggy Bates came up with two outstanding new T-Shirt designs for the 2011 AAA-APM Fly-In. Following the pattern of the past several years, the 2011 shirts again incorporate vintage "pen and ink" airplane art like that used on the covers of our favorite Golden Age pulp aviation magazines.

Our first new T-Shirt features a line drawing of the 1937 Aeronca LC that was Grand Champion Antique at our 1983 AAA-APM Fly-In. At that time NC17484 was owned by then APM President Dave Powell (now deceased). It is a perfect compliment to the 40th Anniversary of the AAA at Antique Airfield - a place where dreams are born and shared.

Our second new fly-in T-Shirt features a dynamic line drawing of a gorgeous Monocoupe 90A, on a low fly-by over Antique Airfield. That was a scene seen in person many times at the fly-in!
